The world’s most eco-friendly country in 2018 is the United Kingdom. It’s not some obscure country, it’s the country with all the greenest laws on the planet.
The U.K. is actually pretty green, though, as it’s often the first to adopt new green policies and initiatives. So for all of its environmental efforts, it’s often the one country in the world to become a national champion in sustainability.
It’s not just the greenest country in the world, though. It’s also the one with the most green policies. The U.K. is much more efficient with its energy consumption than its peers. The UK has energy efficiency standards for everything from homes to schools (with a few exceptions) that are the highest in the world. And it’s also one of the most efficient countries on the planet when it comes to its renewable energy use.
The UK is a lot of people’s go-to-green country. But we’re also an island nation and this isn’t the first time we’ve led the pack. In 2016 the U.S. was the runner up for the greenest country in the world, and in 2016 they also did the best job of becoming a national champion in green. Our green efforts have started to spread to the rest of the world, too.
The British National Grid (BNG) is the UK’s official electricity supplier, and the country’s biggest electric utility. It’s also the country’s largest green energy company, with around 1.2 million customers. The U.K. has the third highest per capita electricity consumption in the world, and the country is responsible for around 7% of the world’s carbon emissions.
In the UK, the renewable energy sector is also responsible for over 10% of the countrys greenhouse gas emissions. The wind industry is also a major contributor to reducing the countrys greenhouse gas emissions by 788,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year. Wind power is also responsible for helping the countrys economy grow by 5.9% a year.
The United Kingdom is also the world’s second largest coal producer, but thanks to its vast reserves of coal, it is also the world’s largest green energy producer. It is also responsible for the smallest per capita carbon footprint of any country in the world.
According to the National Living Planet Report the UK was the world’s most green country in 2018. This was largely due to a number of factors. The country’s top three green factors are; “energy conservation”, “environmental protection”, and “water management”.
The first is a bit of a stretch because it isn’t technically true. The UK is actually the worlds largest coal producer, but the only reason coal is used is because it is a cheap and abundant fuel. The second is true, but it’s not that impressive in reality. It’s actually true that the UK is the worlds least green country in 2018. This was due to a number of factors including the countrys highest per capita carbon footprint.
The UK has the second highest CO2 emissions per household in the developed world. It also holds the No. 1 spot in the “best places to live” ranking. Not necessarily the best place, but the best place in the world.
