I’m sure you’ve heard the story about the guy who bought an HP laptop and then plugged it into his network and the network died. We can probably also add that the same thing happened to the guy who bought a PC and plugged it into his network and that network died. In both cases, the network was a temporary solution until the user could set up a permanent network.
It turns out that the HP laptop that was plugged into the network died because of a hardware problem. A simple software update fixed the problem, but the user had to reboot the computer to boot back into the network. The user was then able to connect the computer to the internet again.
