I have been a part of the Palm Beach County business development board for about two years now. I was recently elected to the board and my election was unanimous. Since the last year of business development board, I have been actively working on our strategic plan and marketing plans.
So I guess I got elected unanimously. Since I am also a business development board member, I will be able to share some insight on my own business development board experience.
My business development board involvement has been pretty long in the making, starting back in 2012 and continuing to this day. I want to talk about what I have learned while doing it.
The business development board is what we have in the palm beach county area. It’s where we make sure we are working on our business plans and marketing plans so we can grow our business. I am a big believer in making sure your business is a company you can be proud of. When I started my business development board, I got to make a lot of decisions that were in alignment with the vision of this company.
Business development boards are a great place to start because you can see a lot of the details you need to get started, but you can also see a lot of the things that are holding you back.
For example, it is difficult to start a business development board in South Florida because there are so many different types of businesses. When you are dealing with the same business for so many years, it is a lot easier to get the best outcome when you have a board comprised of all the different types of businesses.

The problem with development boards is that they aren’t really boards at all. They are actually offices that are filled with the same people, but they are run by different people for different reasons.
So for example, I have a board comprised of all the businesses that I run. The problem with a development board is that it is filled with people who have the same goal for the same reason. However, there is a clear set of priorities because different people can have different reasons for doing things.
There are people who want to be in the top 5 or 10% of their region for business growth, and there are people who are interested in working in the upper 1/10th of the population. For all of us business development directors, these are different reasons that need separate people to bring them down to a certain level.
I think that having the ability to move a person from one point on a scale to the next is what makes a level of self awareness and control possible. There is a line between being on autopilot and knowing what to do, and there is a definite line between knowing and being self-aware.
